IGT
In 2025, the Internationales Gitarrenfestival Tübingen once again invited audiences on a musical journey shaped by encounter, diversity and inspiring sounds. From 7 to 9 and 14 to 16 November, Tübingen became a meeting place for musicians, young talents and music lovers from different countries. This year, the festival placed a special focus on Latin America, especially Venezuela. Under the motto “chévere”, the festival celebrated music as an expression of joy, openness and cultural connection.
„ La música nos une a pesar de que la sociedad intente separarnos. “
Carlos Santana
Among the participating musicians were Nirse González, Miguel Siso, Eleazar Rodríguez, Manuel Sánchez, Sergio Fernández, Matheus Donato, Leo Montana and Carolina Riaño, as well as the Residenz Orchester Baden-Württemberg conducted by Sven Gnass.
With concerts such as “Encuentro - zwei Horizonte”, “Boleros - Musik der Liebe” and “Pueblo Novo - Stimmen aus Lateinamerika”, together with the Open Stage & DJ Party, the Matinee-Konzert and the IGT Competition 2025, the festival became a space for exchange, creativity and shared musical experience.
We are very grateful that, together with the musicians, our cooperation partners and our audience, we were once again able to experience a lively, open and inspiring festival in 2025.
2025
Competition
The IGT Competition 2025 brought young guitarists from different countries to Tübingen.
The competition gave them the opportunity to present their artistry before both audience and
jury and to become an active part of the festival.
This year, the required repertoire focused on Antonio Lauro, one of the most important
composers for classical guitar in Latin America. For the first time, the competition took place
in the Aula of the Tübinger Musikschule, which provided a special and inspiring setting.
